I'm falling behind on my comics reading. Again.
Supergirl 62
With appearances by Robin and Blue Beetle. The story's developing nicely enough and except for some panels where Kara seems to be stretching her body almost to Elongated Man limits, the art's fine. There's nothing here to make me forget Gates and Igle, though.
Streets of Gotham 21
The end of the House of Hush story was quite good, better than I was expecting, since I felt a bit lost and annoyed by the previous installments. But it all came together well, even with the confusion over which "Bruce Wayne" we were dealing with at times. The history of Bruce's family has certainly been filled in intriguingly over the years, too.

Three Reviews
Brightest Day 22
In which the White Lantern claims another! Well, sorta. Firestorm battles the Anti-Monitor, Ronnie has a moving moment with Prof. Stein after which the professor kicks off, and Ronnie accepts Jason, which is really what the White Lantern was after. Then Deadman shows up to claim the lantern. All in all, entertaining, and plenty of bang for the $2.99.
Legacies 10
This turned out to be a disappointment. The earlier chapters read better than the later ones, and the narrator's story turned out to not be as interesting as it was at the start. It was sad, too, how he ended up in a nursing home -- what, his daughter couldn't find a way to have him live with her family? -- and no one believes his stories. Sad and pathetic and a letdown. The Blue Beetle backup feature was something I could've done without and the pages could've been used to flesh out the main story, but whatever.
Batman 708
Dick sure is getting his fair share of the weirdo cases. I've never been a fan of Azrael, but I adore Dick (and with Roy now destroyed as a character, Dick's my main comics crush), and this is intriguing enough to keep me interested.
I've got more to read, plus I still have some stacks of comics going back a couple of years waiting for me to read them. There's just not enough time!

Four Reviews
While trying to muster enthusiasm for Flashpoint, I continue reading current comics.
Batman and Robin 21
A very creepy story involving the murders of people related to Arkham inmates. This title clearly has cornered the market on weird Bat stories, and I'm loving it.
Zatanna 10
Although Batman and Robin doesn't come close to the sheer terror of an evil, grinning puppet. A clown would be close. Zatanna should've known better than to trust that smirking hunk of wood no matter what sob story he gave her.
Birds of Prey 10
Now that Oracle is "dead," I can't wait to see how things will now work for the Birds. I like that Babs is going back to Oracle's roots re: being covert, but this seems like she'll be even more undercover than before, so it should be interesting. At any rate, this ended nicely, with appearances from the rest of the Bat team. Even Selina showed up at the end of things. The only part of this I wasn't happy with was the bland art, though Lau's cover rocked.
Batgirl 19
I love having so many female-starring books to read. Batgirl continues to be fun as she balances school, home life, and her latest BG cases. Wendy is developing nicely as the book's co-star, too. Definitely worth reading.

Reading This Made Me Ill
If this is what Roy Harper is and will remain, I will never read another book with him in it. Not that I've been reading Titans, anyway, but still... I read this preview out of curiosity, in the hopes that maybe, things might change for the better at some point, but this is just disgusting. If I'd known what Roy was going to become, I would've just wished for them to kill him off with Lian and be done with it. I don't think I have enough words for the rage I feel about this.

Comics and Comic Books
The NY Daily News went down to 2 pages of comics from 3 pages. A lot of my favorites are gone. I can get most of them online in one form or another, either emailed or in Google Reader or via a GoComics widget in iGoogle, and even via Facebook. But Sherman's Lagoon seems to not be available via a feed of some sort. So I bookmarked it on the Seattle Times site of all places and we'll see if I remember to check it. I fear print comic strips are a dying art form.
A few reviews of comic books, which likely will last a bit longer than newspaper strips.
Brightest Day 21
J'onn J'onzz accomplished his "mission" and the White Lantern got him. That's really all that happened. ;) Lovely art and a solid installment of the story.
Streets of Gotham 20
Really weird flashback to Bruce's parents story. Not bad, but I not one of my faves, for sure. Some nice Bruce Batman and Catwoman scenes, though.
Freedom Fighters 7
I'm really sorry this book has been canceled, but it really isn't for everyone with its heavy political themes and rah rah patriotism. It also has solid writing and nice art and some great characters, but I guess that isn't always enough these days. However, it looks like my favorite Freedom Fighter Firebrand is dead, and I'm getting really tired of killing decent characters in the DCU. I hope he's revived at the conclusion of the story/title.
Secret Six 31
I so love this book. Things are getting a tad out of hand with Scandal skewering Ragdoll, and next issue promises to be a typical adventure for the gang. The cover is a stunner, too.
