Hawkman 48
Nice cover. Unfortunately, there were pages inside. I don't want to say this was a complete waste of paper, but I don't get the point of this chapter, other than to get Carter and Kendra into bed. Will this damn Rann/Thanagar War ever end? It's rapidly lost its ability to maintain my interest.
Green Arrow 58
Not much happened here, either, except we know Conor's still alive, though Ollie doesn't know that. Still, the suspense got ratcheted up a bit. The part 1 after the title gave me pause since this clearly picked up where the last issue ended, but that doesn't change the fact that things are building to something major and I'm hoping the creators manage to deliver that big bang.
The Green Arrow issue also showed that Dr Light is much sharper than anyone thought AND we still don't know what happened to Speedy (though I doubt they'd kill her off after just adding her to the Titans)...This is also one of the books that I buy from habit and not because it's that intriguing. Hope it delivers (as you said).
ReplyDeleteRight. Light is being shown to be a true villain, not a buffoon, now that the mindwipe has been reversed. I suppose we'll get Mia's fate soon. And I hope she survives. An HIV positive character being shown fighting crime is too good to lose.

ReplyDeleteThe same is true of ALL wars, Shelly. They always last longer than people's interest in them. ;)
But reading about them shouldn't take as long as a war would last. ;)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I've read some thrilling and interesting war books/stories. This hasn't been one of them.
