New Header
To celebrate the return of so many DC comics to my Pull List with Rebirth, I redid this ol' blog's header to reflect that. I think it looks spiffy.

New Header
Folks who actually visit this blog, rather than read via a newsreader, might have noticed a revised header. The old one featured comics no longer around. I'm not completely happy with the covers I used, but I had only limited issues for some titles to work with. As I find better covers, I'll probably rework it again. But it's nice giving this old blog a tiny bit of a facelift.

New Header
It was time. And I finally had some covers I thought would work. I might change it again, depending on how my favorites change, but these work for now. I am partial to Phantom Lady and Doll Man and that cover on issue 1 by Amanda Conner is to die for, but the photo came out blurry, so I used the one for Jennifer Blood, instead, my first non-DC cover and I must say, it looks strange, even though it's an awesome cover, one of my favorites. It's so eye catching. And all 4 pics worked well with the lettering, so I didn't have to move or change that, which makes me happy. Also making me happy is that I can keep Roy and Dick in the header. I just wish I could keep Dinah and Babs and the Birds of Prey and Kara Supergirl here, too. Ah well. At least I had, for once, plenty of female characters to choose from, so that's a nice change.
For those of you keeping track (just me, then?), here are this blogs headers so far.

Ta Da!
New header is up. I'm now exhausted. That was hard work. Physical work. I had to move around and dig through short boxes to find just the right covers to scan. I had to have Roy and Dick, of course, and Supergirl, but that 4th cover was tough. I had Donna Troy on the old header, but there haven't been too many nice covers featuring her. I thought of a luscious Adam Hughes Catwoman cover, but ended up opting for Birds of Prey, with Babs featured, and settled on this nice Phil Noto cover. I hope folks like the results.

Sidebar Shuffle
The Comics Blogroll was getting a tad long, so I pulled out the feeds for actual comics/cartoons and moved them down in the sidebar in their own section, right above the Blaugh! cartoon. I think the Art and Comics blogroll is still a bit long, so I might divide it again, but I can't decide on how. Do I pull out the news feeds? The sites that are more art than cartoon? The creator blogs? It's a dilemma. Meanwhile, please explore the sidebar content. There's lots of fun stuff there.

Categories Are Here
Thank goodness this blog is only a year and change old. This took long enough as it was, and I didn't create categories for everything, nor did I categorize every post. I really debated with myself. A category for reviews seems almost redundant and if I do every title, that would make for a very long list of categories. Plus, that's all so time consuming. I had some trouble deciding on a few terms and ended up with a few that overlap and not using others. I rejected "sexism in comics," for the less inflammatory "women in comics" and "female characters," which would cover that topic and related topics. The broader terms work better here because I rarely stick strictly to a topic. The way of the tangent for me.
So I categorized the posts where I felt it was most useful. Characters such as Catwoman got categories because I discuss them individually and/or do single posts reviewing their books. It was a tough call, as I said, and given that this is my blog and such things are subjective, I can only hope folks find the categories useful in helping to find what to read here.
That said, if anyone thinks a category for "reviews" would be useful, leave a comment saying so, and I'll slog through the posts again, labelling them for that.

Everything Old is New Again
I've been upgrading my blog templates now that I'm fully on Blogger's new beta version. I won't do all of them; Cyber Chocolate is a custom design I wouldn't begin to mess with. But the rest shouldn't be too difficult to play with and I do want categories. So I did my photoblog and this one tonight. It's a lot of work, copying code into the template and page elements as appropriate. But I think I got the place looking fairly spiffy. I don't think you can tell, except the sidebar is a bit too close to the posts and I haven't figured out yet how to adjust their widths. The new templates have a different coding system. And I coordinated the main content section and sidebar with the navbar, just for fun. Let me know if anything looks really screwy in your browser.
