Madame Mirage 2
I'm still enjoying this. It's fairly silly at times, but I like the characters, even if Mirage has a pair that rivals the set on Power Girl's body. She's got a ruthless streak and the villains so far have all been men and they aren't having the best of times. I'm looking forward to having Mirage's background filled in and learning more about her abilities. Yeah, it's a fanboy's delight, but as long as Mirage remains a strong character, I have no problem with her appearance, though I do wonder how the tops of her dresses stay in place.
Buffy Season 8 6
Starring Faith, the Buffyverse's favorite bad girl, who agrees to take on a job for Giles that sends her hobnobbing with society types in England. Talk about slayers out of water. Brian K. Vaughn, not Joss Whedon, is the writer, but all the snappy dialogue we've come to love from the show and first arc of this book are here. Faith's going after a slayer gone bad and there should be plenty of action. The next best thing to having the TV show back.

I have never, ever felt there was anything like a "No Girls" sign anywhere near his treehouse. He might give his share of fanservice to the male audience, but he sees nothing out of the ordinary about the presence of female fans.
And his women rock, plain and simple.

Oh, and I'm trying to mock up a Mirage costume for Halloween. I am, indeed, using double sided tape. (And a glue-on silicone bra!) That's DEFINITELY ONE OF HER SECRETS. So I second James, above.
Okay, double-sided tape it is. As a rather uh, small-boobed woman, I've never had this problem. ;)
ReplyDeleteI bought Madame Mirage because I've always liked Paul Dini also. Met the artist Kenneth, and he smiled a lot despite the language difference. But after issue 2, I'm giving up Madame Mirage. The fanboy's delights, the big two of them, keep getting in the way of the story for me (not to mention what they get in the way for her!)
