Yes, I was there. I learned a few things.
1. Going to professionals previews or whatever they called it today is very nice.
2. Not having to pay (librarians got in for free) is very very nice.
3. Even nicer is the Express Registration.
4. All the panels I wanted to go to were scheduled for the weekend when I can't go. Next year, I'm taking the weekend off.
5. I got to see prototype action figures for Stargate SG-1, which look very cool, but not yet for Atlantis. Those won't be out for over a year!
6. Most of the artists autographing who I wanted to see weren't there when I was, but I did get a couple (see next post).
7. At least half of the artists autographing and doing sketches were people I haven't heard of or folks whose work I don't know.
8. I am still a tongue-tied fangirl when it comes to meeting creative folks I've admired for years.
And finally, I was able to find the issue of Justice I was missing which sold out (#2) because I was late in remembering to put it on my pull list. Yay, me.
I didn't know that about the librarians. That's really cool.
ReplyDeleteLooks like I missed you this year, darn it. Amazingly, I did manage to meet the Redhead Fangirl there solely by virtue of having posted my picture on my blog. So, a word to the wise for next year: vanity pays off!
I've always been leery about putting personal info and my photo online cuz there are a lot of crazies out there. However, I might get daring one of these days and put up a photo of me without a camera in front of my face. :)
ReplyDeleteNext year, I'll be more prepared. Maybe those of us bloggers who go could plan a meeting or some such.
