Yet More Reviews

Yeah, I'm on a roll now.

Angel 2-3
Things picked up a bit from the first issue, but I still think most of the characters look too much alike, making it hard for me to tell them apart, but now Spike, Gunn, and Illyria are back and they each have something about them that makes them stand out more. Spike and Illyria's hair, Gunn's skin color. We also learned a bit more about what happened after the series, so this might work out, but it's got a ways to go before it can equal the Buffy comic.

Shadowpact 21
I do miss Willingham, but this was entertaining with part of the team trapped in the Nightshade dimension. I didn't like the cover. Not that it was misleading; I've come to accept we'll get covers that are, but that creature is ugly. I'd prefer to see the Shadowpact battling him on the cover.

Flash 236
I love Wally's kids. I love the family dynamic. I love that they're all in this together and now Wally's acknowledged it. There are team books and family books and this is a family team book. And I love how the main story and the backup story dovetailed and became one story. This book is fun.

Anita Blake: Guilty Pleasures 7
It's been enough time since #6 that I forgot much of where things had left off, and it didn't matter. This is one silly book and I don't know why I can't stop reading it.

WildCats Armageddon 1
Okay, any sighting of WildCats, especially Grifter, gets a top grade from me. And since this one, of the recent Armageddon one-shots actually leads into the mini that will remake the universe, it was the best of the few I read. I like Nemesis and she got to really kick ass in this. The one thing I don't quite follow is at the end of Armageddon, when Void got Captain Atom to blow or some such (the details are already fuzzy in my mind, it's been so long) and there was a universe reboot, Cole was back from the recently dead with a human face and body. But in this, he's metallic, it seems. So I'm a bit confused about the timeline and all, but I'm playing along.

Wildstorm Revelations 1-2
Moving right along, Nemesis recruits Savant and Backlash, who need some convincing, then all three tangle with the Authority, and do just fine. Three kickass females trying to save the universe. What's not to like?

  1. I'm finding Flash to be all kinds of fun. I loved the part where Wonder Woman is horrified that now he has PARTNERS in his antics.
