Well Damn

So Birds of Prey will be needing a new writer. Sean McKeever gave up the book to concentrate on Teen Titans. I was upset that BoP lost Gail Simone as a writer, but she was going to Wonder Woman and Diana needed her more, and I'd read nice things about McKeever, so I was upbeat about the change. And now, after April's issue, he's off the book. And who knows who will take over and if they'll continue the fine tradition of DC's premier female-centric title. I have serious concerns about this. Yeah, I tend to worry, and I won't stop worrying til I hear the perfect writer is taking over. Any ideas who would be best?

  1. I know how you feel. McKeever left the wrong book but when your editor on Teen Titans is also the editor-in-chief of the whole line I guess I understand the decision. Better to do lackluster and lame stories the EIC approves of then be the writer who makes him find replacement talent.

  2. Too many writers or artists always worries me. I like a little stability.

I'd love to give it back to Gail Simone, since I believe that she's just down to Wonder Woman at the moment. Failing her, I vote for Andreyko. If he can do Manhunter, he can do Birds.

  3. Oh, yeah. Andreyko would be an excellent choice.

  4. They're saying it will be Tony Bedard, who filled the gap between Simone and McKeever. Any thoughts?

  5. Bedard is okay, but if he does take over the book, he'll need to read up on the characters more. He made some silly mistakes in his few issues.
