Bopping to BoP

This news makes me extraodinarily happy. BoP will be back this year. With Gail Simone and Ed Benes. I know a lot of people don't like his art, and while I would've preferred Nicola Scott doing art chores, I like Benes' work enough to be happy. I've missed BoP so much! And with the dark storyline already begun for Roy Harper, and Supergirl's book finally worthy of her, this could be a big year for some of my favorite characters.

Sorry for the lack of reviews since Christmas. I haven't been reading comics the last couple of weeks. I've been busy working on the library's website and new Facebook and Twitter accounts from home, at night, after work. And no, I'm not really that dedicated. I'm just obsessed with playing with the new "toys." But that's calming down now and I should be able to get back to comics. I've missed them!

  1. As long as Simone is writing it, the artwork can be forgiven. :-) I just wanna know the final lineup!

  3. At least Benes draws women who look like women and he does pretty faces. The art on the latest Titans, which I got for the Roy part of the story was okay, but Donna... well, her boobs were never that big and hanging out of her costume. Even Kory doesn't look that ridiculous in the issue. And she and Dinah look alike other than hair color. I'll take Benes over that, anyday.

  4. I immediately thought of you, when the news came out, since I know you like Benes. He's not my favorite, but he's not terrible. But Gail Simone! I'm just so happy I could plotz.

  5. Oh, yeah, no one wrote those characters as well as Gail did. I'm plotzing here, too! :)

As for Benes, he's not my favorite, either. Nicola Scott would be awesome. But Benes is fine, better than so many people make him out to be, IMO. I can live with him on BoP.
